Suspect granted bail in Chesham Place weapons and explosives investigation

CTV News London, March 19, 2026

CTV News London reported on March 19, 2026 that Feiyang (Astrid) Ji, 21, was granted bail in connection with the Chesham Place weapons and explosives investigation and released from court that afternoon.

The matter stems from a January 24, 2026 investigation by London Police that began with an overnight trespassing call at Western University and led officers to a home on Chesham Place in London's University Heights neighbourhood. Four people were charged; everyone charged is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty.

Bail decisions turn on whether the court can be satisfied an accused will attend court, will not pose a substantial risk to public safety, and that detention is not necessary to maintain confidence in the administration of justice. A grant of bail is not a finding on the merits of the charges.

“Bail is a fundamental right in our justice system, and accused individuals are innocent until proven guilty.”
